Honduras

A city in Honduras

The Danish Institute for Human Rights is cooperating with a range of stakeholders in Honduras on business and human rights and sustainable development.

Since 2020, the Danish Institute for Human Rights has worked in Honduras to support local actors engage with business and human rights and sustainable development related issues.

In 2020 we signed a memorandum of understanding with the national human rights institution of Honduras –  Comisionado Nacional Derechos Humanos (CONADEH). We provide support and explore opportunities to jointly engage on issues related to business and human rights, sustainable development, and fisheries and aquaculture and human rights education.

We are supporting Comisionado Nacional Derechos Humanos to develop its complaint handling system to incorporate the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

We are working in collaboration with other stakeholders on the situation of human rights defenders, indigenous peoples rights and an energy transition with respect of human rights.

The Danish institute for Human Rights will maintain a strong focus on the environment and on gender in its work in Honduras.
