The Danish Institute for Human Rights is working with Fairtrade International in 2020 to support their work on human rights due diligence.

The Danish Institute for Human Rights has entered into a short-term agreement with Fairtrade International to support them in their efforts to align their activities to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

What we do

Fairtrade International is looking to further align their activities to the expectations as outlined in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The collaboration includes three main workstreams:

  • High-level gap analysis and recommendations based on a review of Fairtrade International policies and procedures and internal interviews and workshops.
  • Advice and support to Fairtrade International for the development of a systemwide impact mapping process.
  • Review of Fairtrade International’s human rights policy commitment.
