Association of Human Rights Institutes, AHRI: a global network of human rights researchers

The Danish Institute for Human Rights is chair of the Association of Human Rights Institutes for the period 2012 – 2017 and hosts the AHRI Secretariat

AHRI is a networkof currently 55 academic member institutions that carry out research and education in the field of human rights. The 55 member institutions are from more than 20 different countries worldwide. AHRI's objective is to bring together human rights researchers from across the disciplines, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and collaboration, and to promote research, education and discussion in the field of human rights. In addition, AHRI supports PhD researchers and the facilitation of exchange between the different member institutions.

At the annual AHRI conferences, member institutions and guests gather to coordinate and plan research through working group seminars and to discusscurrent issues within defined research areas.

Theannual AHRI conference is hosted by a different member institution every year. The Annual Assembly meeting takes place during the conference.
