Two-week course in French that will strengthen participants’ competences in applying a human rights based approach to development programming.

Through its strategy for development cooperation called “The Right to a Better Life”, Denmark applies a Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) in its development cooperation since human rights are not only fundamental values in the Danish development cooperation, but a powerful driver for change.

This course is funded by the Danida Fellowship Center and implemented by the Danish Institute for Human rights in collaboration with la Chaire UNESCO Benin des Droits de la personne et de la démocratie. The course will last 2 weeks and will focus on how to operationalise human rights in development programming.

The overall learning objective of the course is to strengthen participants’ competences in applying a human rights based approach to development programming.

Target Group
National counterparts and staff (local partners) working with institutions involved in Danida programme support within various sectors and thematic areas.

Entry Profile
Participants working in sectoral programmes where efforts at human rights mainstreaming are planned or on-going are encouraged to apply. Fluency in French and good working knowledge in development programming is needed.
