The interaction between international, regional and domestic human rights systems

State reporting in selected West African countries and analysis of the relationship between national and supra-national human rights systems.

This project looks into state reporting in selected West African countries (pilot project) and analyses the relationship between national and supra-national human rights systems and actors.

Purpose

The purpose of the project is to understand the continuous effort that this type of reporting requires and represents, understand the necessity for national state actors to work together in order to secure reporting and ensure the quality of the reporting through consultation with other stakeholders. The project provides knowledge to inform the work of the institute's Human Rights System department. It will also results in a working paper and a couple of articles, as well as teaching modules for practitioners and MA students.
