Ethnic diversity in the police

This report examines the police force as a workplace from an equal treatment perspective, hence internal police matters are the focal point of this report. Focusing on the police culture, the report shows that police’s social conventions and routines can have an impact on equal treatment of employees. Internal modes of speaking and the handling of challenges or failure to do so, specifically associated with being an ethnic minority officer, are identified as key issues.

This report is based on a qualitative interview study among police trainees and permanent police officers, with bothethnic Danish and ethnic minority backgrounds.

This report is in Danish, but contains a English summery.
