Draft materiality assessment implementation guidance

The Institute has submitted a consultation response on a future European Materiality Assessment Implementation Guidance aimed to assist companies in their sustainability reporting including around human rights impacts.

The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) in December 2023 launched a 30 day public consultation on key draft implementation guidance documents including the Draft Materiality Assessment Implementation Guidance (MAIG).

The MAIG sets out to describe reporting requirements on the materiality assessment including the illustration of possible steps of the process. It also contains FAQs on the double materiality assessment to provide implementation guidance from a practical perspective.

The Danish Institute for Human Rights has provided input to this consultation in addition to the input given through participation in EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group (SRTEG), which advises the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board on among other things, implementation guidance in support of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
