Discrimination and disabilities

Proposal for a ban on discrimination on the basis of disability.

There is currently no general prohibition against discrimination on the grounds of disability in Denmark. In Denmark we only have a ban on discrimination on the grounds of disability within the labor market. This means that in all other aspects of society, nothing prevents discrimination against persons without any substantive justification, and only because they have a disability.

With this report, the institute has tried to help the Danish Parliament to begin work on designing a law that ensures that persons with disabilities can also live a life on equal terms with persons without disabilities in Denmark.

This report is in Danish but contains an English summary on page 6.
