Director of the Danish Institute of Human Rights, Louise Holck, has been elected as new Chair of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions, ENNHRI.

The election was held today during an Extraordinary General Assembly meeting at ENNHRI that brings together more than 40 National Human Rights Institutions across Europe to enhance the promotion and protection of human rights in the region.

“I am honored to be elected as the new ENNHRI Chair and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues and partners to ensure that human rights remain at the forefront of our work,” Louise Holck says.

“This is a time for us to offer a message of hope and optimism, not resignation. We must collectively respond by demonstrating how the human rights framework can be leveraged to find solutions to emerging European human rights challenges.”

As ENNHRI Chair, Louise Holck will also serve as a representative at GANHRI Bureau, the executive committee of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions.

Louise Holck will be taking on the new role on March 1, 2024
