Claus Larsen will be the new director of the Human Rights Capacity department at the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

The new department director comes with many years of experience from international rights work.

Claus Larsen is today with DRC Danish Refugee Council, where he is regional director of the organization's work in Europe. In total, Claus Larsen has been with DRC Danish Refugee Council for more than 20 years and has been at the forefront of the organization's efforts in several different parts of the world.

The move to the Danish Institute of Human Rights is a natural next step, he says:

"The rights of vulnerable people have been an important beacon throughout my career. I am very much looking forward to working at the institute, which is not only a leader in knowledge about human rights, but also focuses on how the rights can be put into practice,” says Claus Larsen.

Eva Grambye, the institute’s deputy executive director with responsibility for the international division, looks forward to welcoming the new leader:

"Claus comes with a broad background and great management experience, and he is a really good match for us. I am very much looking forward to the collaboration”.

The Human Rights Capacity Department works to strengthen human rights internationally. This is done in close cooperation with the national human rights institutions of the individual countries and other relevant partners.

Claus Larsen will take up his positions as department manager on 15 November.
