Supporting national human rights institutions and their networks
Education and support help strengthening national human rights institutions and their regional and global networks to advance common agendas.
Regional action plans for human rights defenders, joint responses to threats against national human rights institutions and meetings involving human rights stakeholders to discuss transboundary issues.
These are some of the initiatives that are being facilitated by the Danish Institute of Human Rights in the work with national human rights institutions and their networks under the NHRI·EU Project.
120 national human rights institutions across the globe are connected via regional and international networks. Many national human rights institutions share a common concern for the safety of human rights defenders and a dedication to the sustainable development goals.
By improving coordination and interaction with the global and regional human rights systems, national human rights institutions are strengthened in their role and mandate to promote and protect human rights in the changing global context for human rights.
