The objective of the activities of the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) in Vietnam is to enhance the understanding of human rights principles among key stakeholders (practitioners and the academia in particular) in Vietnam, including support for human rights research and education, studies, workshops, and seminars. The overriding objectives of all activities is to improve the capacity of the partner/beneficiary organizations to promote, to protect and to ensure human rights for all people in Vietnam.
The activities selected relate to partners and/or issues assessed by DIHR as being strategically important for rights implementation in Vietnam. This includes improving the human rights knowledge base, building a strong basis for human rights education and research, developing the legal framework for the protection of the rights of persons subject to administrative sanctions, and building the capacity of the Vietnamese government to carry out human rights monitoring and reporting.
