Key qualifications

International refugee law, asylum, human rights law, international relations

Expertise

My work focuses on refugee law and human rights law as it relates to asylum seekers and refugees. I am interested in research that is timely and policy-relevant at a time when the rights of refugees and obligations of states are under pressure. My PhD dissertation dealt with bilateral cooperation on asylum, including deterrence practices and potential protective solutions. My current work focuses on the law of cessation for refugees and other protection holders; third country solutions, such as resettlement and complementary pathways to asylum; and the role of the UN treaty bodies in protecting asylum seekers and refugee rights.
