Key competencies
Children’s rights; human rights; Danish social politics and administration with a focus on children in public care; rights, democracy and legal pluralism in a historical perspective.
Expertise
I have extensive experience in interdisciplinary research in the fields of social and political science, law and history. During the last decade, I have conducted research on developments in children’s rights, in particular in relation to child protection, from the international instruments in the UN and the Council of Europe systems, to domestic implementation in state as well as municipal administration. For a number of years I worked with education and, among other things, I co-authored two out of five volumes on the history of Danish schools. My PhD thesis looked into the links between legal and political theory and the development of rights in the era of constitutional reforms in the 18th and 19th Centuries.
