The Judiciary
Through coaching and training in strategic planning methodology, it is expected that a comprehensive Strategic Plan will be produced, incorporating all the judiciary's programmatic and budgetary processes. The Plan will also enhance the management skills of the senior staff and establish a corporate planner function with the purpose of facilitating the planning processes.
The objectives of the project are:
- to enable the judiciary to successfully plan, lead, manage and coordinate reforms and effectively collaborate with other legal sector institutions in the implementation of reforms;
- to build up the capacity of the judiciary in initiating reforms, managing and implementing reform activities to bring about the desired change for the Judiciary to cope with all social and economic developments in the country.
The Human Rights Commission (HRC)
DIHR has been engaged with the HRC since 1999. For instance, DIHR helped to draft the law proposal that established the commission. It also supported the secretariat which prepared for the establishment of the HRC. Once the HRC was created, DIHR trained its staff. In response to a request from Danida, DIHR is currently preparing a new training plan and training activities for HRC staff. It will also assist the HRC with the creation of a documentation centre.
