Rwanda

The Danish Institute for Human Rights is working in Rwanda to support the justice sector specifically focusing on the realisation of equitable access to justice through the development and provision of high quality, accessible legal aid services.

DIHR has been instrumental over the last 2 years in supporting the creation of a Legal Aid Forum comprising key civil society organisations working in justice and human rights and focusing on four key output areas: 

  • The existence of a functioning and sustainable Legal Aid Forum
  • A number of Legal Aid Provides with the skills and capacity to provide quality and accessible legal aid services to the indigent Rwandan population
  • Presented monitoring, research and analysis that advocates for improved access to justice and a more enabling  National Legal Framework
  • Quality and accessible Legal Aid servicesprovided to the indigent population and vulnerable groups
