Academic cooperation

The vision is to have universities and research institutions in target countries capacitated to function as a key academic resource base for the promotion of human rights. This will enable state institutions and civil society actors to operate effectively by providing an increased number of graduate and post-graduate candidates with human rights knowledge and expertise.

Ongoing activites include various forms of support to and cooperation with:

• The Haki-Afrika Association of University Teachers of Human Rights in the Great Lakes Region (networking, capacity building)

• UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Democratisation, Benin (networking, capacity building, documentation)

• Universities in Iraq (networking, capacity building, documentation)

• Sanaa Universitiy in Yemen (capacity building, documentation)

• Universities and research institutions in China (capacity building, research)
